Runescape Map

The world of RuneScape is very large and is getting bigger all the time. While players with a free account are only able to explore a small area and enter three cities, paying members have access to a huge world full of deserts, swamps, freezing plateaus, towering mountains, and untamed wilderness.

Players can very easily get lost in this world.

Thankfully, there are many different maps players can download from the internet to help them navigate through the magical world. Runescape.com, the official RuneScape website, has a full world map available for viewing. The link, “View the world map,” is available on the main page under the “Website Features” section. The map is implemented in java, and players can zoom in to see specific details about an area of view large sections of the world at a time. The map is marked with symbols indicating the location of shops, banks, quest start locations, mining sites, anvil locations, dungeons, and more. It is strongly recommended that players take a look at the map before setting out for a new land.

Many other websites have posted maps of the world, as well. Some break down the world into sections, making it easier for players to see exactly what the lay of the land is in a certain area. Others indicate the general level of monsters in each section or recommend players be at a specific level before entering an area.

But the main world of RuneScape isn’t the only confusing place. Many players can find themselves lost in the sprawling hustle and bustle of the large cities of RuneScape. Fortunately, many websites have posted city and town maps as well as a world map. Websites like Sal’s Realm of RuneScape (http://runescape.salmoneus.net/) include city guides as part of their offerings. These guides contain detailed maps of each city in RuneScape. These maps show the location of shops, banks, anvils and other skill-related items, and the location of any quests. Many of these guides also include helpful information on good buys in the city or special events and locations players may want to take note of.

The world of RuneScape is quite large, and new players will probably find themselves confused and lost more than once. However, by finding a good world map, a detailed map of the area of the world they are in, and a few maps of the biggest, busiest cities of the world, players will be able to easily navigate their way through the magical land without the need of asking the locals (or other players) for help. Being able to easily move through a game is one of the most important abilities a player can have, and these map resources are just the thing to make sure players never get lost.

Runescape Maps Introduction

There are so many places in the whole of Runescape, it's too hard to keep track of them and exactly what is where. Think of how you can sometimes forget the names of places or forget where the general store is in Lumbridge...and that's just the free players world! The members world is over twice the size of the free players world and it is simple for even the most experienced players to forget where Yanille or Fremmenik Province is.
Free Players Map of Runescape

Being less than half the size of the members world and therefore taking up less map space, the Free Players still have plenty of the map to roam. With members maps increasing in size, more and more people are being attracted to Runescape membership. To the right is a picture of the Runescape world map:

Members Map of Runescape

You could say that members have far too much of the Runescape map than they can handle...that is, of course, if you are a free player and are not allowed to sign up for membership at this point in time. When you are a Runescape member the world of Runescape is your oyster and you'll never be stuck for a place to go as there are areas in even the nooks and crannies of the Runescape map.
Runescape Map Websites

There are many sites on the internet that provide Runescape maps that cover almost every area of the game. On websites like these there are maps for towns, maps for dungeons and for those Pkers out there, maps for the Wilderness. Some of the better websites for Runescape maps are as follows:

* Runescape Map
* Rune HQ
* Zybez
